Chiefly portraits and snapshots of various members of the Doolittle, Moffat, McLaughlin and Shattuck families of the San Francisco

Alonzo James Doolittle and other family antecedents, including copies of manuscripts for Through the looking glass: a California
family (undated), and A California family: a social history of a family of California pioneers (2008), both of which were
earlier versions of the eventual 2015 publication San Francisco stories: gold, cattle and food. Accompanying these materials
are photographs of various family members, including Henry Moffat, Elizabeth Emma Moffat McLaughlin, Jean McLaughlin Doolittle,
Henrietta Moffat, Rebecca Jennings Doolittle Barker, Muriel Barker, Jack Barker, Alonzo James Doolittle, Martha Ely Doolittle,
and a carte de visite portrait of Mary Shattuck Spencer McLaughlin. Also includes other family biographical papers. Also includes
a photograph album compiled by Jefferson Jennings Doolittle, grandson of Alonzo, which chiefly pertains to multiple decades
of his duck hunting activities; and another photograph album, compiler unknown, with a small number of views taken in Arizona
and California. Ambrotype portrait (CASE box 1) depicts Adrianna Swett, wife of Henry Moffat. Framed painting (CASE tray)
depicts Judge David Olcott Shattuck and his wife Elizabeth A. Sanders Shattuck. Also includes 2 glass negatives (NEG box):
